Montezuma

Montezuma was written to take advantage of the new generation of 64-bit computers now on the market. Export models can be up to 10 million faces or more, unsimplified, limited only by the amount of system memory available.

Montezuma runs only on 64-bit Windows.

Montezuma graphs 3-D slices of formulas based on multi-dimensional fractal spaces. Montezuma currently supports quaternion, hypernion, complexified quaternion, mandelbulb and mandelbox renderings of the Mandelbrot set and Julia sets.

A random image generator, batch mode and integrated video routines make the programeasy for beginners and a powerful complement to advanced fractal artists.

Features of Montezuma:

  • Getting Started Tutorial
  • Distance Estimator for Higher Speed and Accuracy
  • 21 Built in 3-D Formulas + Mandelbox
  • User-Defined Mandelbulb formula (c1)
  • Hybrid fractals (c2)
  • Mixed quad math option for each formula
  • 3-D object exports:
    • Wavefront object format [OBJ]
    • Stereolithography [STL]
    • Triangle mesh [POV]
    • Smooth Triangle mesh [POV]
    • Mesh simplification for smaller OBJ and POV export files
    • Virtual reality [WRL]
    • AutoCad [DXF]
    • Polygon Format [PLY]
  • 3-D zoom exports (using implicit surface polygonization and zbuffer conversion)
  • Palette-based and generalized (32-bit) coloring methods
  • 25 Orbit-trap coloring methods
  • External rendering libraries [RLL] for elaborate surface texturing
  • Perlin noise generator for realistic textures
  • Adjustable lighting model with Phong highlight, Ambient Occulsion and Contrast controls
  • Random image generator
  • Batch mode for unattended image creation
  • Integrated video routines allow easy morphing and rotating between key frames
  • Pilot for easy panning, zooming and rotating
  • Separate user-defined folders for file types like palettes, textures, objects and drawings
  • Context help for menu commands and dialog windows as well as a complete list of topics in the main Windows help [Html] file
  • PDF (printable) Manual

A trial version of Montezuma is available. This contains most of the features of the full version, except that the image size is limited to 320X320 and the precision of 3-D object exports is fixed at 1000 steps. The trial version is for evaluation purposes only. Click here for more info.
