Orca x64

Orca x64 was rewritten to take advantage of the new generation of 64-bit computers now on the market. As such it is up to three times faster than the 32 bit model. Export models can be up to 10 million faces or more, unsimplified, limited only by the amount of system memory available. Caveats: the 64 bit model has a different structure alignment and larger pointer size, so data files (.orc) produced with the 32 bit model are incompatible with this version. There is, however, a transfer routine in the latest 32 bit version of Orca that allows most of the parameters in older .orc files to be converted to a format Orca x64 can load. Orca x64 runs only on 64-bit Windows.Orca is an interactive program that is optimized to generate hi-res 2-D and 3-D fractal images. Orca currently supports quaternion, hypercomplex, complexified quaternion, Juliat and Mandelbulb Sine/Cosine renderings of the Mandelbrot set and Julia sets.

Features of Orca:

  • Getting Started Tutorial
  • 22 generalized dual-function formulas (2500+ variations)
  • Mixed quad math option for each formula
  • 4 types of random fractals:
    • 2-D Julia
    • Stalks (Orbit Traps)
    • Bubbles
    • 3-D Julia
  • 25 Orbit-trap methods
  • 3-D Orbit-trap and bubble textures
  • User-defined bailout option
  • 3D object exports:

A trial version of Orca x64 is available. This contains most of the features of the full version, except that the image size is limited to 320X240 and the precision of 3D object exports is fixed at 300 steps. The trial version is for evaluation purposes only. Click here for more info.
