Independence 1969

Rebellious firecrackers attack
speechless homes of conservatives
on this 193rd day of independency.

"Apple Beer" pop radio music
stations sit on the dock of
the Bay -- and jump in when
motorcyclists chase dogs on it.

Coming along in the frame of
myth, sealy salamander crawls
wringing his way in the Bushlands,
poking his snout in the air of dry
sponge, and stalking gemsbok on
the cooking range.

Soo, soo, soo:
his cry of assonance glows in glue.
