1968: S.F. State Remembered

She said she was lonely
and I looked lonely too,
So she sat beside me
and we talked awhile.

A happening: this was what
I had been waiting for,
a chance to really communicate
with another human being.

She said she was lonely
and I was lonely too
needing that chance to communicate
badly.
